W3C standard components provide all the flexibility I need. As you point out, they work in every browser, they need no additional framework or third party library, and because they are standards they will never become obsolete.

When I watch the churn and burn that React developers go through I just shake my head and wonder how they put up with it. Isn't it exhausting?
