Undergrad science majors should be required to take a course covering these relatively new topics of complexity and emergence. They are an important counterpoint to the classic statistics and reductionist approaches that have prevailed for so long.
That type of course work would help stave off pseudoscience, and at the same time encourage young minds to think about higher order paradigms.
