Previously, whenever I was forced to do a whiteboard exercise in an interview, I gamely went along with it. I thought the interviewers would evaluate my approach, not my results.

But over time, I lost faith in that. Interviewers seem to expect stand-up perfection after all.

So now I try my best to wiggle out of the whole exercise, and if I can't, I just assume that the job will go to someone else who can play that game.

After 46 years in this profession, I've come up with A Better Way to Recruit Tech Talent. https://medium.com/better-programming/2020-026-a-better-way-to-recruit-tech-talent-74c8817439d1
