Can we draw any conclusion about the correlation between a lower-income earner's carbon footprint and their EV ownership? Or just the wealthy?
The Phys.org article "Study shows EV owners have bigger carbon footprint than average because they are wealthier" rightly discovered a correlation between EV ownership and wealth, but then waves their hands about the wealthy having a bigger than average carbon footprint for other reasons.
Also, the original interviews by PLOS CLIMATE "But can it drive to Lapland?" were clearly stated as "The nature of the study is explorative and hypothesis generating".
I applaud anyone, wealthy or not, who chooses to buy an EV, whatever their motivation.
